My role UX/UI Designer — sole designer, full product scope
Design a mobile marketplace where the same user can switch between buyer and seller roles within a single app. The seller side needed product creation flows and a basic sales analytics dashboard — while the buyer side required a smooth, familiar shopping experience.
The core design challenge was keeping both roles intuitive without making the app feel bloated. Switching context between buyer and seller needed to feel natural — not like using two different apps.
Designed a clear role-switching mechanism that keeps the buyer and seller experiences separate but easily accessible. Each role has its own navigation context — the seller's dashboard, product management, and analytics are distinct from the shopping flow.
The seller interface focused on simplicity: product creation with category selection (clothing, cosmetics, home goods), photo upload, pricing, and a lightweight analytics view showing sales summaries. Designed specifically for non-technical sellers who manage their store on mobile.
Competitor research covered platforms like OLX and Airbnb — both strong examples of dual-role marketplaces — to identify best practices for role switching, listing flows, and trust signals.
Worked in a small team of 3 — designer, PM, and Flutter developer. Started with requirements gathering and competitor analysis across 5 platforms. Built out user flows for both roles before moving to wireframes and high-fidelity screens. Regular syncs with the developer ensured designs were Flutter-compatible. Iterated on key flows based on team feedback and stakeholder reviews.
