About me

Saikal Kaparbekova

I've been designing digital products for the past three years, but my journey started earlier — I spent four years as a front-end developer building fintech and SaaS products. That background shapes how I work today: I don't just design interfaces, I understand how they'll be built.

This means I can have real conversations with developers, make decisions that actually work technically, and create designs that don't fall apart during implementation. I hate when beautiful mockups turn into mediocre products because "it's too hard to build" — so I design with feasibility in mind from the start.

Currently

Right now I'm growing towards Design Engineering. I want to be the person who not only designs the interface but can also implement it in code. I'm learning to build design systems, work with tokens, and bridge that gap between Figma and production.

What I'm good at: working with cross-functional teams, understanding technical constraints, and creating systems that scale. What I enjoy: solving complex UX problems, building component libraries, and occasionally coding my own projects.

When I'm not designing,

I love playing volleyball, traveling, and taking photos — new places and people always inspire me. At home, I switch to other creative hobbies like making jewelry, doing crafts, and sometimes drawing.
